Soothes and calms skin; reduces redness.
Found naturally in our skin, lactic acid helps to balance our skin pH. When we have acne, our skin shifts to alkaline pH. Bacteria thrives in alkaline pH. Our wash helps to shift pH back to the acidic range, helping to prevent bacterial growth.
Derived from cow’s milk, this protein helps to maintain acidity of our skin longer.
✓ Plants-derived Surfactants (Sulfate free)
Using a blend of sulfate-free surfactants derived from plants, Calming Cleanser is able to cleanse throughly and gently without drying the skin.
✓Olive-derived Moisturising Agent
Derived from olive, it protects the skin from possible irritation from surfactants. Soothes and soften skin while increasing the moisture levels in the skin.
✓ Full Ingredients list
Water, Calamine, Glycerin, Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters, Lactic Acid, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Phenoxyethanol, Xanthan Gum, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Methyl Oleoyl Taurate, Hydrolyzed Whey Protein, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Benzoate.
✓ Sodium Hyaluronate
Sodium Hyaluronate, a smaller molecular size than hyaluronic acid (making it especially penetrative), is found naturally in our body. It helps retain moisture and helps create a protective barrier against microbes. Sodium hyaluronate is able to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Acne skin is often dehydrated but oily. When acne skin is hydrated, this will stimulate the skin to produce less oil/sebum, thus reducing clogs and acne.
✓ Amino Acids
Amino Acids are the building blocks of protein and have a specific role in skincare. Amino Acids helps to maintain skin’s hydration, resilience, texture, and an overall healthy, supple appearance.

✓ Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Stabilised Vitamin C)
– Effective against Acne
Study showed that Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) reduces P. acnes bacterial count. P. acnes bacteria is the specific bacteria responsible for acne. Another study conducted on volunteers with moderate to severe acne showed that after 12 weeks of usage, skin condition significantly improved.
– Reduces pigmentation (red/brown marks)
SAP is able to reduce the formation of pigments(melanin). The red/brown marks (post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation) left after pimple/acne have healed are a kind of pigmentation.
– Firms Skin
Other than being effective on reducing blemishes, SAP is able to promote the synthesis of collagen, leading to increased skin firmness.
– Protects against free radicals
SAP protects skin against free radicals (pollutants). It has shown to quench reactive oxygen species effectively, reducing skin aging.
P.S. Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is different from unstable L-ascorbic acid as well as other forms of Vitamin C.
✓ Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)
– Treats Acne.
One study found that Niacinamide gives comparable results to Clindamycin (a topical antibiotic), without the risk of bacteria resistance developing. Another study found that Niacinamide is effective and safe in alleviating symptoms of mild to moderate acne.
